Businessweek reported that the apartment rental rates in the country plummeted as another ugly effect of the economic crisis. With the help of survey company, Axiometrics, 25 Metros from across the United States have been named as having the biggest drop in rental rates.
Birmingham, Alabama’s cultural center and 23rd on the list, rental rates in the area dropped to 2 percent. Companies are downsizing resulting to increased unemployment. Unemployment make families move in with family members to save apartment rental fees. Apartment communities then increase vacancies, forcing the landlords to cut on rates and accept concessions.
This scenario may also happen to Auburn, Alabama. If it does, experts advise that it is a good time to take on a long term lease. If your lease is set to expire, heeding the expert advice seems a sound decision. Moreso, if you really like living in your apartment community.

Also known as The Exchange, the University Heights apartments in Auburn AL are bent on luring prospective student tenants with the promise of student living at its finest.
It offers luxuries and places of fun that would surely get every student’s fancy. Its private study rooms are dwarfed by the presence of a 24-hour athletic club, a computer lounge with free internet, resort-style swimming pools, game room, tanning bed, lighted basketball court, sand volleyball court and open air cabanas with barbecue grills for picnic and outdoor gatherings.
It is minutes away from the campus and students would surely welcome walmart, arbys, wendy’s and burger king just across the street.
Reviews for this apartment community are more negative especially the older ones. The recent change in management points to a positive development and supported by recent approval reviews.
